World Youth Day 2023 update #2 – Parietti Tours pilgrimage tour from Seattle and Spokane

We are organizing our 4th World Youth Day (WYD) pilgrimage tour to Europe this summer. WYD takes place in Europe usually every 6 years. In 2023 it will be August 1-6. Our past trips have been 17, 15 and 14 nights in Europe.
WYD is for 13-30 years olds. I have taken a total of twenty-four 14 and 15 years olds on my previous trips. We use the Seattle Archdiocese standard of 1 chaperone for every 6 kids under 18.
Unlike other Tour Operators, we offer a sliding price scale to help make it affordable for more pilgrims.
FOR THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED IN GOING
We have two itineraries to choose from:
- Spain/Portugal – July 23 to August 9 (16 nights) – Barcelona (1 night), Montserrat (1 night), Zaragoza on the way to Avila (1 night), St. Teresa of Avila, Salamanca, Madrid (2 nights), Toledo, Granada (1 night), Cordoba, Sevilla (2 nights), Lisbon WYD (6 nights), Fatima (1 night), Lisbon (1 night). Airfare from Seattle is ~$1,560 (Delta via CDG); From Spokane ~$1,670 Estimated Land Only price for 16 nights: 21 pax ~$3,300/ 22 pax ~$3,225/ 23 pax ~$3,160. If more than 23, price will continue to go lower.

World Youth Day Only + 2 nights – July 31 to August 9 (8 nights) – WYD (6 nights), Fatima (1 night), Lisbon (1 night). If a potential pilgrim can’t raise enough money for the whole tour, but wants to go to WYD, it is possible to piggy-back on our trip. We have spots open. Estimated Land Only price for 8 nights: $1,400/pax (for those who need a chaperone on the flights to WYD, it could be higher). Retail Airfare as of June 22 round trip from Seattle on Delta = $1,560, this would be flying back with the Group or you could stay longer and buy your own airfare. You may be able to find cheaper airfare if you are comfortable flying to Europe on your own.
Prices include: Priest, Motorcoach transportation, Lodging (WYD lodging is sleeping on school or church floors), WYD fees, all breakfasts and dinners plus 5 lunches at WYD), entrance fees, guided tours, tips to Tour Guides and Motorcoach Driver.
Estimates are conservative, so the prices should go down. We will know the exact price after I get a motorcoach contract and book the hotels.
Itinerary #1 – we currently have 21 people (3 chaperones, 12 minors (6 girls, 6 boys), 6 18-21 year olds (4 women, 2 men) plus Fr. Corwin Low, O.P., a former St. Monica Mercer Island parishioner and Mr. Parietti. For Itinerary #2, currently 2 men (early 20s) will be joining us in Lisbon.
We have a contingent from Spokane on this trip. We have group airfare on Delta Airlines. We depart Seattle at 1:30 pm and arrive in Barcelona 11:40 am the next day. Airfare will start to go up when we get within two weeks of the departure date, if not sooner.
